“Sometimes you just need your mom,” Miranda Lambert says in a trailer for “From Cradle to Stage,” a new Paramount+ unscripted series that explores the relationship between rock stars and their moms. Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl is the director of the show, which premieres on May 6. Lambert and her mother, Bev, appear in an upcoming episode, as do Brandi Carlile and Teresa Carlile.
In the trailer for “From Cradle to Stage,” which premiered during the “56th Academy of Country Music Awards” on Sunday, Bev Lambert discusses a young Miranda telling her she planned to enter a talent show. In another clip, Carlile says her mom “has been there every step of the way.”
Tom Morello and Mary Morello; Rush’s Geddy Lee and his mother, Mary Weinrib; and Pharrell Williams and Dr. Carolyn Williams appear in upcoming episodes. Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds and his mother, Christene Reynolds, are featured in the first episode.
The series was inspired by Grohl’s mother, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, and her book “From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars.” The Grohls are executive producers of the series from Live Nation Productions.
