Cliff Smithers, morning host at Cumulus Media “K100” WKKO Toledo, OH, has announced his retirement after 32 years with the station. “Well, I never thought the day would come to decide to get out of radio,” Smithers wrote on Facebook. He thanked his colleagues, including Gary Shores who hired him 32 years ago, and hinted that his retirement might not be forever.
“You can never fully leave radio because it always stays in the blood,” he added. “So MAYBE, just maybe I’ll pull out the headphones down the road and do some part-time somewhere.”
Smithers told local CBS affiliate WTOL 11 his next adventure is working for Toledo Door and Window.
